Free Residential Document Shredding Event, Food Drive and Drug Disposal

SecureShred, a division of Bend Garbage & Reycling, and the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office are partnering to provide residents the opportunity to safely destroy personal documents.

When: Saturday, March 16, 2013

Where: Deschutes County Sheriff's Office
            63333 W. Highway 20, Bend

Time: 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

The free event is intended for private residential document shredding only and is not for business or company disposal.  No advance document sorting is necessary as shredding equipment can destroy paperwork with paper clips or staples attached.  File folders may also be shredded. 

Donation: The Sheriff's Office is asking event participants to bring a donation of non-perishable food to benefit NeighborImpact (www.neighborimpact.org).

Drug Disposal Program: The Sheriff's Office will also have a deputy available to collect outdated or unwanted prescription medication or over-the-counter drugs.  This program is designed to keep unwanted or unused medications away from abusers, children, animals and to reduce negative environmental impact to the water, soil and landfill's.
