Yogis Unite for CAN Cancer

Yogis Unite Bend is Central Oregon's largest one-day yoga festival and an opportunity to gather, celebrate the experience of family, and introduce yoga to those who may have never tried it. We invite you to participate in this healing practice with the Bend sun on your face and help us build a connected community through unity, acceptance and love.

Proceeds from this event are donated directly to CAN Cancer. CAN Cancer, Community Assistance for Neighbors with Cancer helps local families cover day-to-day non-medical expenses while receiving cancer treatment. 100% of your donations goes directly to the patient.

After the class, there will be live music and other entertainment. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 the day of the event.

Join us for a day of golf to help cover non-medical living expenses for Central Oregonians fighting cancer. 

The event will feature a four person scramble, 50/50 pot, long drive special, breakfast, snacks and lunch, plus a silent auction.

Free Appliance Recycling Event

The annual appliance recycling event held by Deschutes County Solid Waste is scheduled for:

Saturday, September 19th, 2015, 7:00 am - 5:30 pm

Knott Landfill - 61050 SE 27th Street - Bend

Acceptable appliances include: stoves, dishwashers, freezers*, refrigerators*, trash compactors*, overs, water heaters, furnaces, washers, dryers, air conditioners and heat pumps.

*Items noted with an asterisk will not be accepted if they contain food or food residue.

Normal Collection on Labor Day, Office Closed

Bend Garbage & Recycling will be operating on a normal collection schedule on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2015.

Customers who have garbage & recycling collection on Monday's should have their carts out by 6:00 am or the night before.

The Bend Garbage & Recycling office will be closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2015 and will reopen Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 8:00 am.

Bend Garbage & Recycling collects on all holidays expect for Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
