BendSurgeryCenter and Altrec.com/GreatOutdoors.com in Redmond were among the winners of the Bend Garbage & Recycling and High Country Disposal Commercial “Recycler of the Year” awards for their efforts in 2008.Nominated by recycling route drivers from Bend Garbage & Recycling and High Country Disposal, the winners are recognized for their recycling efforts.
Bethlehem Inn, Whispering Winds Retirement and St. CharlesMedicalCenter (2005 Recycler of the Year Award) received special recognition for their excellent recycling efforts as well.

Another important factor in our review process is that materials collected for recycling are free from contaminants.Our businesses nominated for this award have shown growth in the amount of their recycling, done a great job in keeping materials sorted properly as well as keeping it clean from contaminants,” Brad Bailey, President of Bend Garbage & Recycling & High Country Disposal.
Bend Garbage is a local, family owned business celebrating over 47 years in business and most recently celebrating “2007 Distinguished Business of the Year” designation in the large business category by vote of Bend Chamber of Commerce members.
