Please look for the CAN Cancer envelope in your March garbage statement. Every dollar counts! Your gift does make a difference.

Please Keep Plastic Bags Out of Curbside Recycling Carts

Please Keep Plastic Bags Out of Curbside Recycling Carts

Plastic bags are a common contaminant in curbside recycling.  Please do not put plastic bags, or other film plastics in your blue commingle recycling cart.  Examples of other film plastics are: saran wrap, paper towel wrapping, newspaper wrap, bubble wrap, etc.

Plastic bags that end up in the recycling carts get tangled and jam up the sorting machinery at the recycling processor. These contaminants can also force the recycling facility to shut down the sorting line several times throughout the day in order to clear the machinery of plastic bags.

Please recycle your plastic bags at your nearest participating grocery stores.

For more information on what can and can’t be recycled in Bend Garbage & Recycling’s service area, please visit bendgarbage.com and download a recycling guide.
