The Bend Garbage & Recycling office will be closing at 2:30 pm on Christmas Eve, Monday December 24th.  The office will re-open on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 8:00 am.
 The office will also be closed on New Year's Day and will re-open at 8:00 am on Wednesday, January 2, 2013.

Garbage & Recycling Service:
Our Tuesday - Friday customers will have their garbage and recycling service one day late for both holiday weeks.   
Tuesday customers will be serviced on Wednesday.
Wednesday customers will be serviced on Thursday.
Thursday customers will be serviced on Friday.
Friday customers will be serviced on Saturday.

Christmas Tree Recycling

Boy Scouts troops 18, 25, 23, 60 and 460 will be collecting Christmas trees for recycling in your community on the weekends of December 29 & 30 and January 5 & 6.

Individual Troops will post door flyers specifying which days they will be picking up trees in your neighborhood, starting mid-December.  If you do not receive a flyer or need further assistance, please call and leave a message using the phone numbers below.

Please have trees cleaned of all lights, decorations, tinsel and out of the stand.  Place trees at the end of the driveway by 9:00 a.m.

A tax-deductible donation of $5.00 is greatly appreciated.  Make your check payable to “Boy Scouts of America.”  Place the donation in a plastic bag and securely attach it to your tree with a rubber band.  Proceeds go directly to scouts and support their programs.

If you require a Christmas tree pick up after January 6, Bend Garbage & Recycling will collect your tree on your garbage day the week of January 7 - 11 for a $5 charge.  Just set your tree out next to your roll cart. Trees free of tinsel and flocking will be recycled whenever possible.

 At no charge Deschutes Recycling, located at Knott Landfill, will take Christmas trees Monday - Saturday, through January 31.  Other locations include Negus Transfer Station in Redmond, Northwest Transfer Station between Tumalo and Sisters, and Southwest Transfer Station located between Sunriver and La Pine. Contact the Department of Solid Waste for guidelines and transfer station hours at 541-317-3163. Trees cannot have tinsel or flocking.

Yard Debris On Call Collection Schedule

For Bend Garbage & Recycling's yard debris subscribers, yard debris switches to an on-call collection service for the months of December & January.

Customers need to call in when their cart is full and we will schedule a pick up on the Friday of their regular scheduled yard debris week.

Yard debris every-other-week service will resume in February 2013.

Bend Garbage & Recycling Holiday Collection Schedule

Bend Garbage & Recycling collects on all holidays except for Christmas Day and New Years Day.  This year our Tuesday through Friday customers will be affected by our holiday collection schedule. 

Beginning Tuesday, December 25 and Tuesday, January 1, regular garbage and recycling service will be one day late for both holiday weeks. 

Regular scheduled collection days of Tuesday through Friday will be serviced Wednesday through Saturday.

For example, if your regular collection day is Tuesday, your service day will be Wednesday.  If your collection day is Friday, your service day will be Saturday.

This schedule will be in effect December 25, 2012 – January 5, 2013.
